When it comes to an Arizona bachelorette party, most people’s first thought is Scottsdale. But just a couple hours outside of the Phoenix/Scottsdale area is Sedona, the perfect place for a low-key, outdoorsy bachelorette party. Nestled in the red rocks of Arizona, Sedona is packed with cute shops, excellent restaurants, and, of course, all the outdoor adventure a bride could want.
Itinerary
Day One
Check in, decorate, and stock up on food and drinks
We checked in around 4 and immediately set up our Girls Gone (Into The) Wild decor! A few of the girls went to the store to stock us up on food and drinks for the weekend, and to pick up take out.
Bachelorette games and tarot
For our first night, we wanted to have a low-key evening. We played classic bachelorette games, showered the bride in gifts, and opened our party favors. As the night progressed, we leaned into the spiritual vibes of Sedona and broke out tarot and oracle cards.
Since we were from all over the country, having a casual night in was the best way to get to know new friends and catch up with old!
Day Two
Breakfast and jeep tour
We kicked off Saturday with breakfast at the Airbnb – mimosas, avocado toast, bagels and lox, and lighter options like granola bars and fruit – before heading off to a Pink Jeep Tour.
For our outdoor adventure, the bride wore a matching white legging set (with a veil and sash, of course) and the rest of us wore matching black outfits, complete with gold temporary tattoos and custom pink sunglasses.
The Pink Jeep Tour was absolutely one of the highlights of the trip! We did the 2 hour Coyote Canyon tour and had a blast. Our guide, Andrew, was great and gave us a ton of background on the area. We stopped twice for photo opportunities and our guide doubled as an excellent photographer for group pictures.
Lunch, exploring town, and relaxing at the house
After the jeep tour, we grabbed lunch, complete with prickly pear margaritas and tequila shots, and explored town. Because Sedona is said to be a vortex, the town is full of crystal shops, psychics, and other quirky businesses. Several of us got our auras photographed, which was a really cool experience!
Because everyone had different activities that they wanted to do, it was great having an unplanned afternoon. Some of us hiked the nearby trails, while others napped or relaxed next to the river, and others caught up on reading. We also surprised the bride with an in-house massage.
Dinner and night out
Saturday night was all about getting dressed up and going out on the town! The bride wore a gorgeous white dress and had sparkling shoes and matching bag, while the rest of us put on our favorite little black dresses.
We started the night with dinner at Shorebird – definitely try the overstuffed bacon and eggs and avocado fries – and champagne and more prickly pear margaritas. Sedona doesn’t have much of a nightlife scene, but we had a good time at Mooney’s Irish Pub, which had live music and a lively dance floor.
Day Three
Check out, brunch, shopping, and travel home
We checked out of our Airbnb and went to brunch in town. The rest of the day was spent shopping, drinking more margaritas, and heading back to Phoenix to catch flights home.
Decor
For this Sedona bachelorette party, we came up with the theme “Girls Gone (Into The) Wild!” It completely fit the setting and felt more original than the typical bachelorette party themes.
To make this theme come to life, our decor was primarily green, pink, and gold with touches of animal print and fake greenery. We completed it with a gold “Let’s Get Wild” banner.
Logistics
Transportation
A car is a must for getting to Sedona and driving around once you’re there. If you aren’t local to the Phoenix area, plan on renting a car. The drive time from Phoenix is a little over two hours.
Lodging
Whether you prefer to stay at a resort or an Airbnb, there are plenty of options! We stayed in a gorgeous Airbnb with plenty of space, stunning views, and a private hiking trail.
Sedona Bachelorette Party Dos and Don’ts
DO: Take a Pink Jeep Tour
If you’re only planning one big activity for the weekend, this should be it! It’s one of the best ways to see the scenery and learn about the area, and provides plenty of photo opportunities.
DON’T: Plan every moment
There is so much to see and do Sedona, so it’s nice to have time to shop, stop for a drink, or go on a spontaneous hike. Make sure to leave free time open in the itinerary to check out the sights and relax.
DO: Soak up the energy
Yes, it’s a little cheesy, but Sedona is famous for its vortexes and energy. Hike to a vortex, get a tarot reading, or simply take a few minutes to meditate and soak in the vibes.
Sedona isn’t the only Southwestern destination known for its vortexes. Utah is another vortex hot spot that shouldn’t be missed!
DON’T: Expect a ton of nightlife
If you’re looking for a wild bachelorette weekend complete with bar hopping, Sedona is not the place to go. You won’t find many options for bars and nightlife here, so make sure the bride isn’t expecting a crazy night out.
If you’re looking for an adventurous, low-key weekend, Sedona is the perfect place for a bachelorette party! Would you have a Sedona bachelorette party?
